Here is a great idea from Joyce Pacer - use Sharpies on your paper cutter to indicate commonly used measurements for cutting and layering for a regular size card. She used red to mark the 5 1/2" mark and the 4 1/4" space. Then she used green to mark 5 1/4" and 4" marks, and then used purple or orange to mark the 5" and the 3 3/4". This helps achieve perfect layering at a glance. Thank you Joyce for sharing this great idea.
Here is a great tip from Denise Foor to prolong the life of your glue sticks (which are on sale during the Online Extravaganza through Nov. 28). Store the glue sticks in a plastic zip lock bag when not in use along with a baby wipe or two to keep them moist. This helps the Glue Sticks last longer.
The Online Extravaganza promotion is the biggest online sale of the year from Stampin' Up! During these 10 days only, you can get incredible discounts-up to 50 percent-on some of your favorite products!
In addition, there will be three products 20 percent off for 24-hours only on both the first and last days of Online Extravaganza-our very own doorbusters!
When it is time to reink your new firm foam pad be sure to have a plastic spoon handy. After applying the reinker to the pad, take the back of the plastic spoon and push the ink into the pad (like frosting a cake) to evenly distribute the ink. Close the pad for 10-15 minutes to ensure even distribution.
Have you used the Silicone Craft Sheets? What a great way to keep your work space clean while using adhesives. I keep one right on my craft table and use it when adhering my card layers. I use my Adhesive Remover (#103684 for $3.50 p. 177) to keep it clean. The Silicone Craft Sheets (#127853 for $5.95) can be found on page 31 of the Holiday Catalog.
The Edgelits (page 190) give cards unique edges. A great way to hold them in place when running through your Big Shot, is to secure them with the sticky side of a couple of post-it notes. Give it a try.
One way to increase your stamping pleasure is to develop a system for finding the right stamps quickly. Some stampers use a 3 ring binder with stamped images of each set or a copy of the stamp lables on 8.5 x 11 card stock pages. These can be divided into catagories similar to the Stampin' Up! catalog (nature, greetings, holiday, etc.) or use categores that make sense to you. This way you can see all your images in one place and what stamps will work with your card. My sets are organized alphabetically. Anyone leaving a comment with an organizational tip this week will be entered into drawing for a little goodie package.
I just learned that you can use the new Stampin' Dazzle Markers directly on a stamp. These markers can be found on the bottom of page 19 of the Holiday Catalog. They are $3.50 a piece. The item number for the gold is 128979 and the item number for the silver is 128978. There is a link to the catalog in the side bar.
